Privacy Policy
JustWhen is made by Sean Rankine ("we", "us", "our"). We built JustWhen to be simple and private. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and what choices you have.
The short version
Your tasks, history, and settings stay on your device. We do not store your task content on our servers. We do not use ads, analytics, or cross-app tracking. We do not sell your personal information. If you start a free trial or subscription, Apple, Google Play, and RevenueCat may process limited purchase-related information so premium features can work.
What information is handled
Information stored on your device
JustWhen stores the information you add to the app locally on your device — task names, categories, completion history, tracking preferences, digest settings, and other app settings. We do not collect this task data on our servers, and we do not have access to it.
Subscription and purchase information
If you start a free trial or buy a subscription, limited information related to that purchase may be processed by Apple (iPhone version), Google Play (Android version), and RevenueCat, which helps manage subscription status and premium access.
This may include whether you have an active subscription or trial, renewal status, transaction-related identifiers, an anonymous app user ID, and basic technical information needed to manage access. We do not receive your full payment card details.
Why this information is used
We only use information where needed to: provide the app and its features; unlock and manage premium access; handle free trials, renewals, and restore purchases; respond to support requests; and comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations.
Our legal bases
Where laws like GDPR apply, we rely on: Contract — to provide paid features and app functionality you request; Legitimate interests — to operate the app responsibly and answer support requests; Legal obligation — where we must keep records or comply with applicable laws; Consent — if we ever ask for permission for something optional.
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your task content with advertisers or data brokers. The only limited outside processing relates to Apple, Google Play, and RevenueCat. If you choose to export or share your data, that happens only because you choose to do it.
Analytics, ads, and tracking
JustWhen does not use ads, third-party analytics, behavioural tracking, cross-app tracking, or telemetry tools. We do not use your data for advertising.
Do Not Track
Because JustWhen does not use cross-site tracking or behavioural advertising, the app and website do not respond differently to Do Not Track signals.
How long information is kept
Your task data stays on your device until you delete it in the app, you delete the app, or your device removes the data. Subscription-related records handled by Apple, Google Play, or RevenueCat are kept according to their own systems and privacy policies.
International processing
If you use subscriptions, some limited purchase-related information may be processed outside your country by Apple, Google Play, or RevenueCat under their own privacy terms.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information; object to or restrict some processing; request a copy of certain information; withdraw consent; and make a complaint to a privacy regulator.
UK users can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). EEA users can contact their local data protection authority. Canadian users can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Because your task content stays on your device, many requests are best handled directly by you inside the app by editing, deleting, exporting, or removing the app.
Children's privacy
JustWhen is available to a broad audience, including younger users. We do not knowingly collect children's task content on our servers. If a child starts a subscription, limited purchase-related information may be processed by Apple, Google Play, or RevenueCat. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has sent us personal information directly, please contact us.
Security
We do not store your task data on our own servers. Your data is protected mainly by the security of your own device and operating system. We recommend using a passcode, Face ID, Touch ID, or similar device security features.
Third-party services
JustWhen uses the following third-party services, which may process limited information under their own privacy policies: Apple App Store, Google Play, RevenueCat.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we do, we will update the date at the top.
